The women’s swimming and diving team had a solid performance on Monday night at the Gladstone Community Center with a 3rd place finish. The medley relay team of junior Lily Mix, junior Rian Caswell, junior Devon Simms and sophomore Gabby Baker started off the night with a 5th place finish. Rian Caswell went on to place 4th in the 200 IM. In the 50 freestyle, Devon Simms swam to a 3rd place finish while Lily Mix took the 11th place spot. The divers then took the stage with senior Jennifer Sailor winning the event. Senior Victoria Xayaphet dove to a 3rd place finish and sophomore Julie Wheaton took 3rd. Devon Simms took another 3rd place spot in the 100 freestyle with Gabby Baker placing 14th. The relay team of Caswell, Simms, Mix and Baker swam to a 4th place finish in the 200 freestyle relay. Lily Mix finished her day placing 8th in the 100 backstroke while Rian Caswell took home a 3rd place finish in the 100 breaststroke. The team will return to Gladstone this weekend to take on 34 other teams at the Winnetonka Invitational.
