Both XC teams will make their final preparations for the District meet this coming Saturday at Lee Summit North High. The top 2 teams move onto the state meet along with the top 15 individual qualifiers of teams that did not qualify. Both teams are ranked in the top 5/Top 6 depending on which formula is factored into the rankings. The boy’s side is a very tight ranking of all 6 teams that are in the mix to qualify for the state meet. A bad day by some, and good day by others could flip the rankings upside down, as well as other runners displacing teams that score.
The girl’s team shows 3 powerfully ranked teams vying for the top 2 spots. Truman should have multiple individuals that are within striking distance of qualifying around the other individual girls on teams that do not qualify. It should be a competitive and wild morning in both races for both teams and all involved. Hopefully fans of Truman can come out to watch the meet from behind the parking lot fence at LSN campus to catch the runners in action!
The Boy’s team would be the first team to qualify for the state meet since 1997. Any individual qualifier on the boy’s side would be the first time since All-State runner & School record holder Cole Rockhold did it in 2013. Any individual qualifier on the girl’s side would be the first time since Stacy Briggs (also school record holder but just missed all-state honors that year) did it in 2017.
