Truman athletics not only performed on the athletic surface but also in the classroom. These sports received either the Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award or the Distinguished Scholastic Achievement Award. To earn the Outstanding teams had to have a combined GPA of 3.5-4.0 and to earn Distinguished teams had to have a combined GPA of 3.0-3.49.
